Comparison: De’Longhi AC 75 vs AC 100 – What are the Differences?

Coverage Area

De’Longhi recommends the AC 75 for rooms of up to 25 m² (269 ft²). The AC 100, on the other hand, is suitable for slightly larger rooms with a surface area of up to 40 m² (430 ft²).

To ensure that purified air is available throughout the room, the AC 75 and the AC 100 take in dirty air through the front panel on two sides and then return it in an upward flow through the top grille, thereby improving air circulation.

Clean Air Delivery Rate

In both devices, a washable pre-filter removes large impurities such as pet dander and dust. Next, a HEPA filter captures up to 99.97% of particles and allergens as small as 0.003 µm. Lastly, a layer of activated carbon takes care of unpleasant odors and smoke.

The AC 75 then returns the purified air into the room at a rate of 140 m³/h. Surprisingly, the AC 100 has a slightly lower Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 130 m³/h. Both models are equipped with an ionizer, which can be turned on and off independently from the airflow.

How a De’Longhi Air Purifier works

Working Noise

When running at full speed, the AC 75 causes only 40 decibels (dB) of noise compared to 44 dB for the AC 100. At 30 dB and 33 dB, respectively, both air purifiers are barely noticeable on the lowest speed setting.

Due to the lack of a night mode, you will either have to manually lower the fan speed before you go to sleep or set a timer. You can choose between 1 and 3 hours with the AC 75, and 1, 2, 4, and 8 hours with the AC 100.

Sensors & Display

Unlike its predecessor, the AC 100 is equipped with intelligent sensors that allow it to track the quality of the air nearby. When set to automatic mode, this information is then used to increase or decrease the fan speed depending on the current pollution levels.

Furthermore, you can see the current air quality even from across the room thanks to the integrated LED lights. Since the AC 75 lacks De’Longhi’s Air Quality System (AQS), you will have to make all changes manually. Neither of the two devices comes with a display.

Conclusion: De’Longhi AC 75 or AC 100 – Which is the Better Air Purifier?

If the small coverage area does not pose a problem for you and you don’t mind the missing automatic mode (for example, because you live in an area with relatively constant pollution levels), the De’Longhi Air Purifier AC 75 is an option for you.

Most people, however, will probably prefer the De’Longhi Air Purifier AC 100. Since it is able to adjust the fan speed according to the current pollution levels, the AC 100 makes sure that the air inside your room is always purified and helps you save energy at the same time.
