Comparison: Jafända JF260 vs JF888 – What are the Differences?

Coverage Area & Efficiency

Jafända recommends the JF260 for bedrooms and other relatively small rooms with a surface area of up to 22 m² (238 ft²). The significantly more powerful JF888, on the other hand, can deal with up to 71 m² (760 ft²).

In both instances, the suggested room size is based on five air changes per hour (ACH). So if you happen to live somewhere with only moderate air pollution and are content with two ACH, the coverage area would increase to 55 m² (595 ft²) and 177 m² (1900 ft²), respectively.

Clean Air Delivery Rate

First, a pre-filter takes care of hairs, pet hairs, and fibres. Next, a True HEPA filter captures bacteria, mold, and pet dander. The JF260 removes up to 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns, while the JF888 manages to remove even smaller particles down to 0.1 microns.

In the final step of Jafända’s 3-stage filtration process, activated carbon is used to neutralize smoke, pet odors, cooking smells, and VOCs. The JF260 does all this at a rate of 260 m³/h (153 CFM). The JF888 sports a Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) of 830 m³/h (488 CFM).

Introducing the Jafända Air Purifier JF260

Working Noise

In sleep mode, the JF260 and JF888 operate at an extremely low noise level of just 22 decibels (dB). Running at full speed, the smaller model reaches a maximum of 52 dB, compared to 54 dB for the more powerful JF888.

Both can be set to auto mode, in which they will automatically adjust their fan speed based on air quality. As soon as they detect a decrease in the amount of pollutants in the air, their fan speed and noise level will decrease accordingly.

Sensors & Display

To gather the real-time data needed for the auto mode, both models are equipped with a sensor that constantly measures the pollution levels around them. While the sensor inside the JF260 is only able to detect PM2.5, the JF888 is also able to keep track of PM1.0 and PM10.

This information can be viewed on an LED display. In addition, a colored indicator reveals the current air quality at a quick glance, with green signifying good and red unhealthy. With the JF888, even more details are available through the Jafända app (see below).
