Levoit recommends the Vital 200S for medium-sized rooms with a surface area of up to 35 m² (380 ft²). The Core 400S, on the other hand, comes with a slightly higher effective range and can deal with up to 37 m² (403 ft²).

Both can be set to auto mode, in which they will automatically adjust their fan speed based on the detected air quality. As soon as pollution levels start to drop again after a sudden spike, their fan speed and noise level will decrease accordingly.

Sensors & Display

While the Vital 200S relies on an infrared dust sensor, the Core 400S is equipped with a high-sensitivity laser dust sensor that can detect changes in the air quality up to ten times faster. The gathered real-time updates are used as input for the automatic mode (see above).
